Eligibility Criteria for Common Bank Exam 2011:


Nationality: The Applicant must either be:

A Citizen of India

A Subject of Nepal or Bhutan

A Tibetan Refugee who came over to India before 1st January 2011,with the permanent intention of settling in India.

Age Limit: Min: 20 years Max:30 years. (As on 01.07.2011)
(Relaxation in Age as per rules)

Educational Qualifications: (As on 01.07.2011)

A Graduate Degree in any discipline from a recognized university of Government of India or equivalent Qualification as there of approved by the Central Government of India



The Selection process for IBPS Common Written Exam shall consist of written test. The Written test is Objective as well as descriptive in nature

Objective test: The Objective test for Common Written Exam is no different from the other Banking Objective tests. The Objective test shall consist of Questions from the following sections:

Reasoning: 50 Questions carrying 50 marks

Quantitative Aptitude: 50 Questions carrying 50 marks

General Awareness: 50 Questions carrying 50 marks
(Some Questions in this section will be asked on Banking Awareness)

Computer Knowledge: 50 Questions carrying 50 marks

English: 50 Questions carrying 25 marks

The Total duration of Written Exam is 150 minutes. Apart from English Section, the weightage of every Single Question is 1 mark, whereas in English Section, each question carries 0.5 marks.



Descriptive Test: Apart from Written exam, there will be a descriptive exam. The Descriptive Papers is basically the test of English language and Question are asked on (Essay, Precis, Letter Writing etc).The total duration of this Exam is 1 hours and carries 25 marks

Descriptive Papers of only those candidates will be evaluated who secure Qualifying marks in the written exam.

Proper Time Management-The Key for Success in IBPS Exam 2011:

So candidates must apply proper time management during the Common Written Exam (CWE-2011).Students must not waste their time on tricky Questions and follow the rule of “Tick and Go” in General Awareness, Computer and English Sections. IBPS CWE Scorecard 2011
IBPS Score cards 2011: IBPS has first time introduced a unique method of selecting personnel for the post of Probationary Officers and Management Trainees through a Common Written Exam (CWE-2011).Although there is no official word on the Exact date of first IBPS CWE exam 2011,but it is tentatively scheduled to be held on 18th September 2011.

The IBPS written exam is both objective as well as descriptive in nature.The Objective test shall consist of 225 Question carrying 225 marks with a duration of 150 minutes.There are 5 sections in Objective test viz.Reasoning,Quantitative Aptitude,English,General Awareness and Marketing/Computers.The Descriptive papers for IBPS exam is besically the test of Englisg language and question are asked on Essay Writing,Letter Writing ,Precis Writting etc

IBPS CWE Scorecards:

IBPS will issue the Score cards to the students at the time of declaration of IBPS Common Written Exam Results 2011.The Score cards will be in hard copy format and will be send to each of the candidates who have appeared for the IBPS CWE Exam 2011 through Registered Post/Speed Post at their respective Correspondence Address

Cut Off Score for IBPS CWE Exam 2011 :

Candidates will have to score minimum Qualifying marks in each of the objective test separately to get themselves considered for vacancies in the participating banks.The cut-off points will be decided based on the average (Average – ¼ Standard Deviation for General category candidates and Average – ¾ Standard Deviation for Reserved Category candidates).

Validity of CWE Scorecard: 

IBPS CWE Exam will be conducted twice a year:
  • CWE Scorecards will be valid for the duration of one year from the date of issuance of Score cards
  • To improvise their scores,candidates can appear in the subsequent exams of IBPS

Offline Mode: In Offline mode,candidates will have to deposit the fees mentioned above in any of the branches of 19 participating banks.For Depositing the application fees via offline mode candidates will have to download the Cash Voucher from IBPS Official website and submit the duly filled cash voucher along with application fees in the branches of the participating banks.

  • Candidates will have to click on the link marked as "Common Written Examination"
  • After that a new page will be opened,on this page candidates will have to click on “CLICK HERE TO APPLY ONLINE FOR CWE- PROBATIONARY OFFICER/ MANAGEMENT TRAINEES SEPTEMBER 2011"
  • Then it will open the Online Application form,Candidates will have to follow the on-screen instructions and fill the application form.After filling the application form the system will generate a Registration Number and Password that must be kept secure for future reference.
  • After that candidates must take print out of "System Generated Application form" and reserved it for future usage
