Bank Jobs aspirants and those irked with the IBPS Common Examination Platform will have something to cheer as 20 Public Sector Banks in India are planning to Conduct Common Interviews for those who have been declared in the Written Exam (IBPS CWE). Earlier, the IBPS Common Examination System is widely criticized and the students have demanded that IBPS Examination System must be banned. In one of our previous post, we have already discussed about Why IBPS Examination System is a Failure ?

The major reason as to Why this new System is being introduced is due to fact that only Toppers in the IBPS PO-1 Exam are getting the Interview Calls and are getting the Offers Letters from Multiple banks and the Next lot will get Interview calls only when the the first lot is absorbed, there by making the Recruitment process lengthy.

"Standardisation of the selection process will reduce the workload for banks," said a governing body member of IBPS. "The present system is not time and cost-effective." IBPS director AS Bhattacharya declined to comment.

Why IBPS PO Result in Delayed ?

IBPS had conducted the 2nd CWE for PO  on 17th June, 2012 and there had been lot of talk on the Internet as to why the IBPS is not declaring the PO Results on time and more than 100 Days have passed, but still there are no signs of the result.

The reason as to Why the IBPS PO Results gets delayed is due to the reason that IBPS and Banks have been busy in formulating a strategy for conducting the Common Bank Interviews and reviewing the Strategy of the Recruitment Process. The New Recruitment procedure will be implemented for the IBPS PO-2 Qualifiers

As, we have reported earlier that IBPS PO Result is expected to be declared in the Month of August, but it was delayed only that Banks and IBPS are working on this NEW and improved Recruitment Procedure and wants to get it implemented for IBPS-2 Exam.

IBPS PO Result Expected Date:
As, the new IBPS Recruitment procedure is now completed, so IBPS result can be declared any time in October, But as per information received from IBPS through a Telephonic Conversation, the result is expected to be Declared in the October Ist Week

Here are Few Points that Candidates will find Interesting regarding the Common Bank Interviews

  • Public Sector Banks in India normally recruit 20,000 to 30,000 people every year. This process will surely save the time and money of the candidates.
  • 20 Public Sector Banks (excluding SBI) had given their mandate and approval to IBPS for conducting the Interview's on their behalf.
  • The New system will be introduced for the IBPS PO-2 Qualifiers and they will be the first among the lot to attend the Common Bank Interviews.
  • Candidates appearing for the Common Interview will  can attend the Interview without paying any fee. Earlier, each bank charged Rs 150 to Rs 200 for attending the Interview, there by making the Recruitment process costly

Now Apply for Private Bank Jobs in India

After a gap of 2-3 Months, Clerical Jobs for IBPS Qualifiers have been announced and this time Punjab National Bank (PNB) had announced its vacancy for Clerical posts. This news is surely to bring smiles of the Faces of IBPS Clerk Qualifiers, but will also disappoint some of the candidates, who have passed the IBPS Clerk Exam. The Disappointment of PNB Clerk Recruitment 2012 is related to Eligibility Criteria.

Who is Responsible for this PNB or IBPS ?

Here are few points that I would like to pin-point in this Article
  1. IBPS had invited the applications for the Clerk CWE from the candidates who have the 12th Class and are in the Age Group of 18 to 28 year
  2. PNB invited applications for SWO/Clerk vacancies from the candidates who are graduates and in the Age group of 20-25 years.
So the Question here is,
  • Why there is a Difference in the Eligibility criteria.?
  • Who is responsible for this Mess IBPS or PNB. ?
  • Why they are playing with the future of the Candidates
We want that someone from PNB or IBPS must come forward and answer these Questions.

In April, 2012, Govt of India had passed an order that Graduation is must for Clerical posts in Banks, On this the then IBPS Director said,
That the Government order on making graduation as minimum qualification was a “recent development” which came after IBPS conducted the written exam.
So, it is must for all Banks to follow the criteria laid down in the IBPS Clerk Advt.

Should PNB have to revise its Eligibility Criteria ?

The HR Deptt of PNB must look into this matter, as it is concerned with the future of thousands of Candidates who have passed the IBPS Clerk Exam.Applicants who are not happy with the PNB Eligibility criteria are advsied to contact the HR Deptt of Punjab National Bank .
